Jacob Arabo Is the “King of Bling”   by Matt Pitt

What is it that makes Jacob Arabo the “king of Bling”? It could be his skill to put in diamonds to every possible thing or his association with some of the greatest names in Hip Hop culture. In the initial years of his business, Jacob Arabo ran an ordinary jewelry firm, selling mid-priced diamond engagement rings and the like. Until, that is, the early 1990s rolled around and he started designing pieces for top name hip hop models. Both Biggie and Tupac were some of his earlier clients and well as Diddy who he is still close with.

With the significant growth of his name and brand Jacob the Jeweler became more creative. He has added diamonds on everything from watches, gold ropes, and Jesus pendants to sneakers and blackberry cases. His name has appeared in many well known raps and his image is used in the video game Def Jam: Fight for NY, in which 3D hip-hop thugs compete to earn cash, which they can use to buy jewels from Arabo.

Over the past several months, Jacob the Jeweler made appearances at a couple of well-attended, New York area events. Notably, his namesake company, Jacob & Co., donated the Champion
