Minimalist Christmas Decorations
The first Saturday in December is typically the time of year when we get that rickety old wooden ladder out and risk our lives by climbing about in the loft to find plastic trees and banners. Yes, this the time of year, usually about three weeks before we finally start thinking about buying presents, when we sully our finely crafted interior designed walls with colour shiny bits of plastic and synthetic fibre in celebration of the fact that a mythical figure was allegedly born a few thousand years ago.
The of course there’s the centre piece, the authentic Scandinavian pine tree. Or if you lack the disposable income and verging on insane levels of enthusiasm for Christmas, the cheap plastic imitation of said tree. I have just proceeded to visualise what the backdrop to Christmas looks like for the average family, an exuberant OTT explosion of colour and tack. Entering into the jovial Xmas spirit shouldn’t be like this, you can add a touch of class to your Christmas.
The first thing to do is check out all the old tosh you have been using since Jesus was born so you don’t face the temptation to use any of it. You won’t have to get out a loan or

Instead, sprinkle your house with some proverbial fairy dust by peppring it with some tasteful decorations like some roman candles for the window, a REAL tree with a measured amount of decoration, perhaps a smattering of lights, and maybe even a decorate wreath on the front door, just to let vistors know that you’re not a complete scrouge!
